Young Adventurers Holiday Programme
We run a school holiday ‘programme with a twist! The offer…it’s so much more than just keeping busy, it’s a week full of adventure, exploration, new experiences, new friends and good times. The kids have the opportunity to really challenge themselves while experiencing new adventures in their own backyard
The holiday programme will be open to all ages over 10 years old.
A day based programme in Christchurch and Banks Peninsula:
Day 1- Outside rock climbing and abseiling in the port hills. Sitting proudly over Mt Pleasant is Cattlestop climbing area. This location has fantastic views as well as great rock climbing, a favourite among old and new climbers alike.
Day 2 -Walk to Packhorse Hut with the option to summit Mt Bradley and enjoy the stunning views of Lyttleton Harbor and beyond.
Day 3 – Sea Kayaking: Starting from Cass Bay we launch our sea kayaks and paddle around to Quail Island. If weather permits we will circumnavigate the island searching out the ships graveyard and impressive cliffs before heading back to Cass for the end of the day.
Day 4 – Mountain Biking the Little River Rail Trail, a non technical track that follows the route of an old 19th century railway line between Hornby and Little River. We will start on the track in Motukarara and ride to Little River, exploring the vast wetlands, lakes and township.
Day 5 – This is a mix of fun games and in the afternoon a port hills rogaine. The rogaine will be set as a competition, and will take approx 3 hrs to be completed in teams.
*Actual itinerary may vary depending on weather conditions on the day.
We will supply all necessary equipment excluding bikes, but can assist families with suppliers who will hire bikes out.
The days will start, meeting from 8:30am (earlier on arrangement) and finish by 5pm. We will provide a central meet point in Christchurch for drop off and pick ups and will arrange transportation from here to the daily activities.
