2 day Alpine consolidation trip - intermediate September 24, 2022

ALPINE CONSOLIDATION TRIP OVERVIEW
On this 2-day alpine consolidation trip, you will have the opportunity to revisit all the skills taught on the 6-day alpine course, by doing this trip you will be given the safety net formed by other participants of similar experience and an experienced guide/instructor to venture outside of where you feel comfortable exploring on your own.
The trip’s aim is for you to gain more experience and confidence to tackle similar trips in your own time.
Delivered by highly skilled and experienced alpine instructors you will have the opportunity to be in the driver’s seat when it comes to decisions around route choice, weather calls etc. The planning of this trip is completed by us prior, however, you get to control how things run once we are on the water.
Time will be given to revisiting any course content and skills learnt on your alpine skills course; however, no new skills will be taught on this trip.
PREREQUISITES
A minimum OENZ 6-day Alpine Course or equivalent is required to attend this consolidation course. If you have completed training with another provider or club, please contact us before booking.
ALPINE TRIP LOCATION

For this trip, we will be making the most of what Craigieburn’s and Arthurs Pass National Park has to offer. Starting at Broken River or Mt Cheeseman Ski Field on day one to revisit some essential skills. Overnight accommodation in Arthurs Pass Village in a lodge. With an attempt at a summit or alpine journey on day two.
The group will decide the objective for day two with the support and guidance of your instructor/s.
Please note: Weather and local snow conditions in the New Zealand Mountains often impact choosing an objective. It may not be possible to attempt a summit on day 2. A 50% success rate of achieving a summit in New Zealand is considered very good. If the local conditions are not favourable on your trip, your instructor/s will come up with an alternative plan to ensure you get the most out of your trip.
ACCOMMODATION

We will be staying in Arthurs Pass Village for this trip in a lodge. The lodges we use have full kitchens, hot showers, and bunkrooms with mattresses.
