2 DAY NAVIGATION & SURVIVAL BUSHCRAFT March 23, 2019
This is a 2 day navigation & Survival bushcraft course.
This course focuses on multi-day tramps/hikes in New Zealand. On this course we look at trip planning, NZ weather, packing and gear requirements for extended trips, and navigation using topographic maps.
This is a popular course for people that are experience day walkers, hunters or people that are part of tramping groups/clubs that would like to up skill or extend their personal knowledge or move onto doing multi day or off track trips.
This course is also suitable for people working towards a NZOIA (new Zealand Outdoor Instructors Association) Bush Leader or Bush1 awards.
This course is delivered in the Craigieburn Forest Park near Castle Hill Village Village. We meet at 8am in Darfield (approx 40 mins from Christchurch). From darfield we drive into the hills and onto our course location parking at Texas flats, Mt Cheeseman.
TRAVELLING FROM OUT OF TOWN?
Lots of people travel to attend our navigation and bushcraft courses and we like to make it easy. We off a free pick up/drop off service for people for people traveling from out of town from the airport and Christchurch city centre accommodation. Talk to one of our friendly team about our pick-up/drop off service.
WHAT GEAR WILL I NEED FOR THIS COURSE?
Just your backpack, your normal tramping/hiking clothing, a compass and some food. We will send you a detailed gear list once your booking has been processed.
If you not sure you have everything you need for the course, no need to stress. We have all the gear and equipment available for you to hire. Just add a note to your booking or give us a call to organize your gear rental in advance.
