Sea Kayak Trip - Outer Banks Peninsula November 19, 2022

Sea Kayak Trip Overview
On this 2-day sea kayak consolidation trip, you will have the opportunity to revisit all the skills taught on the sea kayak course, by doing this trip you will be given the safety net formed by other participants of similar experience and an experienced guide/instructor to venture outside of where you feel comfortable paddling on your own.
The trip’s aim is for you to gain more experience and confidence to tackle similar trips in your own time.
Delivered by highly skilled and experienced instructors/guides, you will have the opportunity to be in the driver’s seat when it comes to decisions around route choice, weather calls etc. The planning of this trip is completed by us prior, however, you get to control how things run once we are on the water.
Time will be given to revisiting any course content and skills learnt on your skills course, this can be on the land or on the water, however, no new skills will be taught on this trip.
Prerequisites
*A minimum OENZ 2 day Sea Kayak Course or equivalent is required to attend this consolidation course. We do recommend the 4-day sea kayak course and the minimum as it will give you the skills to be more comfortable on the exposed component of this trip.
Consolidation Trip Location

For this trip we will be making the most of what Banks Peninsula has to offer, starting in Sumner with an overnight at Little Port Cooper and finishing the trip in Port Levy. Due to the nature of the land around Banks Peninsula, we have lots of options if conditions aren’t suitable, so we may have to be flexible on where the trip runs.
Accommodation
Wilderness camping will be our accommodation for this trip, Little Port Cooper has a great spot to camp on the flat ground right next to the beach.
Gear & Equipment

Just bring everything that you would normally take on a day trip plus overnight equipment. We will send out a detailed gear list prior to the course.
If you’re not sure you have everything you need for the course, no need to stress. We have all the gear and equipment available for you to hire. Just add a note to your booking or give us a call to organize your gear rental in advance.
Food
This is a self-catered course, please pack all your meals and snacks for the duration of the course.
