Bush Consolidation Trip – Mount Cook National Park

This is a 3-day intermediate off-track bush trip

Mueller Hut in Aoraki National park, New Zealand.

Bush Consolidation Trip Overview

On this 3-day bush consolidation trip, you will have the opportunity to practice navigation and above-the bush line skills while completing a classic route in Mount Cook National Park.  On this trip, we will walk into to Mueller Hut to base and explore the local area.

This trip includes a mixture of formed tracks and off-track navigation and optional camp or hut stay, above the bush line at Mueller hut.

Supported by one of our qualified instructors you will have the opportunity to lead sections of the trip and practice your navigation decision-making skills while gaining confidence and experience.

Please note that this is a consolidation trip, not a training course.  We have allowed some time to revisit and practice skills learned on our bush courses but as this is not a teaching course so no new skills will be covered.

Prerequisites

*A minimum OENZ 2-day bushcraft course or equivalent is required to attend this consolidation trip. Plus you must be able to carry a pack for 6-8 hours a day and be happy sleeping in a tent.
