1 Day Navigation & Bushcraft Course
This is a 1 day bushcraft and navigation course.
This is a one-day introductory level bushcraft and navigation course that focuses on trip planning, equipment section, personal safety, emergency communications and navigation using a map and compass.
This is a popular course for people planning on embarking on day walks, multi-day tramps/hikes or hunters looking for some navigation skills in the New Zealand outdoors.
This course is delivered in the Craigieburn Forest Park near Castle Hill Village. We meet at 8am in Darfield (approx 40 mins from Christchurch). From Darfield, we drive into the hills and onto our course location, parking at Texas flats, Mt Cheeseman.
TRAVELLING FROM OUT OF TOWN?
Lots of people travel to attend our navigation and bushcraft courses and we like to make it easy. We offer a free pick up/drop off service for people traveling from out of town, from the airport and Christchurch city center accommodation. Talk to one of our friendly team about our pick-up/drop off service.
WHAT GEAR WILL I NEED FOR THIS COURSE?
Just your backpack, your normal tramping/hiking clothing, a compass, and some food. We will send you a detailed gear list once your booking has been processed.
If you’re not sure you have everything you need for the course, no need to stress. We have all the gear and equipment available for you to hire. Just add a note to your booking or give us a call to organize your gear rental in advance.
